Hey y'all,

Welcome to our second Dev Diary entry. I'm part of the team that's in charge of building the user interface for SimFBA. Tonight, I'm going to go over a bit of what we've been doing behind the scenes and showcase a few screenshots for y'all on the alpha build for the Interface.

Our goal for the interface is to build a platform where users can manage everything about their team on the interface. This includes the roster management, recruiting, gameplanning, and scheduling teams. We want to make sure that players have the tools needed to manage their team with ease without the use of a forum.

As for our progress, we have a ways to go, but we've been working on what we would like the site to look visually. So, I'm going to provide screenshots below for your review.

Note: The following screenshots do not represent the final product, only a working build.

Landing Page:

The landing page is the first thing the user sees when they access the Interface. Above is the navigation which is what the user will use to navigate to the pages necessary. If the user is logged in and has a team, they will see their team name on the left-portion of the nav bar. On the right side, they will be able to see their username.

When you hover over the team name, you will be given more options on navigating the Interface.

A quick note: The dropdown items are likely to be changed due to a few things we're working on.

Clicking on the team name will bring the user to the team page. The user will view info regarding their team and their roster here. Everything from the current season, players and redshirts. We eventually want to implement sorting so that users have the option to sort through their roster by name, position, overall, and jersey number.

If the user clicks on their username, they will then view their User Profile. The user can access all of their own personal info - their username, the option to change their password, and their overall and current record. On the right side of the panel are four images that the user will be able to use to navigate to other pages directly from their user profile. If the user has a team, they will be able to see their team's logo. The formatting is a little off right now, but

Quick Note: The image resolutions and text sizes are currently being worked on.

Currently, we've viewed screens that a user should be able to see, granted that they have a team. What if the user is not assigned a team? Well, they will be able to navigate to two options from the Navigation Bar: Available Teams and recruits.

The Available Teams page provides users with a visual display of all teams available to coach in the sim. We want the user to be able to see the teams available, their logo, and the conference the team resides in. Each team card will have a Request button at the bottom, that the user can click to request that team.

Once a user has requested a team, an admin will be able to manage and approve active requests. Once a user has been approved for their requested team, they will be able to access the variety of menus shown above.

At the moment, the Recruiting UI, Scheduling UI, and Depth Chart UI are not ready to be shown.

As mentioned above, the following pages are works in progress on what we want the interface to be like for the user. We want to make the experience as seamless as possible so that users can manage their teams seamlessly. There's still a lot of progress to be made, but we're making sure to take our team and to break tasks down. We want to make sure that the platform we're building is one that you all will enjoy.

If you have any questions or want to give feedback, please comment below or message me. I am always open to feedback. If you're interested in contributing to the development of the interface, please message either me or @Gigemags.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this, and that y'all have a nice day.
