Ok folks, the NFL is fast approaching, and i'm keen to hear what everyones thoughts are on who is going to contend and who isn't.

Unfortunately, things don't look good for mine and @npklemm 's boys. My homeslice Master Luck has thrown the towel in, and it is now down to Monsieur Jacoby to make things happen. I think we will be fine, but I think it would be unrealistically to have as high hopes as I had like, a week ago.

I can't look past KC this year. Their D looks stronger, Hill is playing, and Mahomes is... well, Mahomes.

I want the Niners to play well in the NFC. I love Nick Bosa and they just seem a fun team to follow. Hopefully Jimmy G can iron out his pre season problems.

Feel free to fill out the form below with your predictions (i'll do mine in the next post):

Super Bowl Champion:
Super Bowl Runner Up:
Best Regular Season Record (and who?):
Surprise Team to Miss The Playoffs:
Surprise Team to Make The Playoffs:
QB to throw most TDs:
Most Rushing Yards:
Most Sacks:
MVP:
Rookie of the Year:
#1 Draft Pick in 2020 Draft:

went to playoffpredictors.com and filled out a quick game by game selection, I think it got a little top heavy and keep in mind I only put like 5 minutes into this.

Super Bowl Champion: Kansas City Chiefs
Super Bowl Runner Up: Chicago Bears
Best Regular Season Record (and who?): 14-2 (Chiefs, Pats, Rams)
Surprise Team to Miss The Playoffs: Would the Packers be a surprise? Otherwise the Cowboys, Browns, Falcons fit
Surprise Team to Make The Playoffs: Bills and Jets. Give me them young QBs
QB to throw most TDs: Pat Mahomes
Most Rushing Yards: Saquon Barkley
Most Sacks: Danielle Hunter
MVP: Khalil Mack
Rookie of the Year: Andy Isabella (very hot take, I know lol) although I wouldn't be surprised to see like a David Montgomery here
#1 Draft Pick in 2020 Draft: Raiders

Super Bowl Runner Up: New England Patriots
Best Regular Season Record (and who?): Kansas City Chiefs
Surprise Team to Miss The Playoffs: Rams
Surprise Team to Make The Playoffs: 49ers
QB to throw most TDs: Drew Brees
Most Rushing Yards: Saquon Barkley
Most Sacks: Joey Bosa
MVP: Carson Wentz
Rookie of the Year: Josh Jacobs
#1 Draft Pick in 2020 Draft: Los Vegas Raiders

So I'm homering with the Eagles pick but they are much more talented then they were either of the last 2 seasons. I don't see how you stop an offense of Carson Wentz, Djax, Alshon, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz, and Dallas Goedert.

Patriots are an easy pick to make it because they always do.

Kansas City gets the best regular season record for me but I can't pick them to win a Super Bowl because Andy Reid will probably ride a 14-2 record into a bye and then lose in the first round of the playoffs like usual.

I'm way down on the Rams this year. Gurley is a major concern and the offense fell apart without him last year. I don't think Goff is very good, but he looks good in the McVay offense but last year defenses started to figure it out some. Can he adjust enough to overcome a QB that isn't that good and a gimpy running back? idk...

Given that I think the Rams will struggle, the 49ers could be a surprise playoff team to look for. I'm not sold on Jimmy G, but if he is good he could propel them to a division crown.

Barkley for most rushing yards bc the only true threat is Zeke and Zeke is holding out. The Giants have nothing but Barkley. He is gonna get 25 touches a game.

Rookie of the year almost always goes to running backs. I don't see a QB that is gonna start right away to make a run (Jones, Haskins, and Locke are all sitting). Sanders won't get enough carries for the Eagles. So that leave Jacobs. The Raiders are gonna be horrible but maybe they can hang their hat on a rookie of the year award while they go 1-15 and get the #1 pick in the draft. Spoiler alert, they probably draft somebody that was a projected day 2 pick in that spot.

Big homer picks. I think the Eagles are good, but I don't think they're that good. Although I am biased myself.

I can’t see any scenario where they aren’t better than they were when they won the Super Bowl. Is that good enough? Idk. Probably won’t matter because half our team will get injured again anyways though.

I disagree, I think that interior of the offensive line is getting older, and the defense doesn't quite have the same horses for pass rush as they did in 2017. But whichever teams can avoid tons of injuries usually do well. I still think they make the playoffs.

Well players do age, that is indisputable. But last season Brandon Brooks allowed 1 sack, Jason Kelce was graded as the top C in the NFL, and Isaac Seumalo is only 25.

The Eagles DT2 from 2017 is now their DT3 after they got Malik Jackson and their DEs are the same except for Chris Long, who only started 1 game and had 5 sacks on the year. Vinny Curry was a starting DE that season and is a backup now because Derrick Barnett isn't a rookie anymore. If I was gonna pick an area of concern it would be the LBs defensively but def not the pass rush.
