A bit of a shorter piece as I put it off and wanted to get it out before games today.

Tulane followed up a close week 1 win by beating Colorado State by a score of 42 to 13. Colorado State has a strong running game led by redshirt senior RB Mark Nelson and scrambling redshirt senior QB Andrew Michael. DE Justin Murton is a monster against the run and was a force this week causing problems for Tulane. Colorado State has a solid balanced team but are missing some more big playmakers which would make them more of a threat.

Paul McCullers-Sanders followed up a great performance with another good game throwing for 373 yards, 4 TDs and no interceptions on 42 attempts with 28 completions. After this strong performance PMS still leads the nation in passing yards going into week 2 of the season. Haloti Thomas also had another strong game putting up 98 yards and a TD on 18 rushing attempts along with 4 catches for 80 yards and a TD on 4 targets. Jeffrey Bouthillier also had a big game with 16 catches on 24 targets going for 215 yards and 2 TDs. WR Dashaun Knight and FB J’Mon Marte scored the 2 remaining TDs and PMS was only sacked once which is a big improvement from the 6 sacks he took the prior week. While the Tulane offense didn’t put up as many yards as they did the previous week they were able to finish the drives off in TDs scoring 4 more TDs then the previous week.

The Tulane defense also had a good week with Kevin Milano “Cookie” forcing a fumble and intercepting a pass. Outside of Milano the defense just played a good game as a whole with not too many stand out performances. Colorado State was held to ust 372 yards and 13 yards coming from a TD and 2 FGs. The defense got their first two sacks of the season with DE Reid Kalambayi and DT Trent Sale each getting one and their 53 tackles was a big improvement from the 41 they got in week 0.

Overall this was a great game for Tulane as they look ahead to week 2 against Oregon for their first away game of the season. Oregon has yet to play a game this season but Tulane will have to stop a high powered rushing attack for the 3rd time to start the season with RB Ulrick Kahnle being Oregon's offensive star player.
