A G5 OOC brawl? You bet we're there! We're going to check out one of the top safeties in the country get tested with an extremely physically gifted tight end as the Florida Atlantic Owls travel up to take on the Miami RedHawks. On one side, we have the 6-4, 241 receiving threat Tavon Thomas who @.jackwan is hoping gets off to a hot start this season. He'll be dueling one of the sport's best in Joshua Martin, the RedHawk's star safety coming off an 11 tackle game against Isaiah Lewis and the Maryland Terps. It's truly a best on best fight, as both players will need to play their best in order to lead their team to a win.

Last season, Thomas struggled, only grabbing 18 receptions for 178 yards and 1 TD as he split time with the now graduated Jahleel Wentz. Now, Thomas is the main man, and is looking to start his campaign for AAC Offensive Player of the Year and even more. Meanwhile Martin was phenomenal as a junior, 52 tackles, 1 FF, and 2 INT, he wrought havoc on opposing offenses. Looking at the tape, Thomas has the overwhelming size advantage, but Martin is faster. Technique wise, Thomas is a phenomenal blocker, but out on a route Martin should be able to hang right off his hip. This is an extremely tactical matchup that will have all kinds of NFL scouts in Yager Stadium this Thursday night.

Prediction - Martin locks down Thomas, keeps him under 5 passes. Who wins the game, no clue, but I think Martin gets the better of Thomas. Kid is just so polished.
