2024 SimNFL Draft Positional rankings

Recommended Posts

Ok let’s get started on some post draft media. I am going to rank every player selected in the 2024 SimNFL draft by position. I am also going to include when they were drafted but not because I love you guys and think the article would be better with it. I am only doing this because it will help me with more draft content so I can squeeze you for all of your interactions and likes. You are all just vessels for me to collect likes which stroke my ego and give me enough dopamine to keep going. Ok this isn’t going to be super nuanced I am not going into value, scheme fit, or meta this will be a ranking looking at overall, attributes, and potential. Also just for the sake of clarity all players that don’t have their overalls revealed yet I am assuming that their overall is the middle of what it can be. So since a B- is like a 54-56 I am assuming that they would be a 55. Also because some of these got really really close if I couldn’t figure out exactly where to place them after going through everything I used vibes as a tiebreaker.

QB:

  1. Round 1 Pick 7 Texans Scrambler Hiram Maronde A/D-
  2. Round 4 Pick 117 Eagles Pocket Andrew Moncrief 55/B
  3. Round 1 Pick 22 49ers Balanced Andrew Solano 56/B-
  4. Round 7 Pick  238 Titans Balanced Brandon Alexander C+/A+
  5. Round 4 Pick 105 Vikings Field General Dylan Gomes B-/B-
  6. Round 5 Pick 136 Dolphins Pocket Blake Smith B-/C+
  7. Round 4 Pick 113 Chargers Scrambler Xavier Means B-/D
  8. Round 7 Pick 233 Seahawks Scrambler Frank Robinson C+/C+
  9. Round 6 Pick 190 Jaguars Pocket Brooks Burke C-/B

Man I didn’t realize it before I actually dove into this class but this was a pretty good QB class. Maronde was the best QB but not only was the class pretty good it was very even. Andrew Moncrief in the 4th round is the 2nd best QB in my opinion but Solano, Gomes, Alexander, Smith, and Means are right behind him. I can understand other people's rankings looking a lot different from mine just because I feel like so many of these guys were super close in talent level. I think Andrew Moncreif and Dylan Gomes were amazing value in the 4th but the steal of the class has to be Brandon Alexander as the last QB off the board C+ overall with A+ potential. If the Titans didn’t already have a good young QB with great potential in 3rd year QB David Paul and Wayne Reimer who is in his prime you could argue that Alexander could be their franchise guy. I don’t think it will happen but who knows the Titans might give Alexander a shot to win the starting job.

RB:

  1. Round 1 Pick 24 Panthers Receiving Kelvin Dupree 60/A
  2. Round 2 Pick 49 Eagles Receiving DaQuan Badgley 59/A-
  3. Round 1 Pick 9 Seahawks Balanced Clayton McGee 62/D+
  4. Round 3 Pick 66 Rams Receiving Isaiah Rogers 56/A
  5. Round 3 Pick 71 Texans Speed Jeff Holley 60/C+
  6. Round 1 Pick 22 Lions Receiving Richard Bianchi 59/C-
  7. Round 4 Pick 107 Chargers Receiving Nick Pounders B/C+
  8. Round 4 Pick 130 Titans Lorenzo Carr B+/D+
  9. Round 6 Pick 184 Bears Balanced Stanley Segovia 53/A+
  10. Round 5 Pick 148 Jaguars Receiving Garett Cordier B/C
  11. Round 5 Pick 135 Saints Receiving Devante Fuentes 55/C-
  12. Round 5 Pick 147 Colts Speed Brent Rodney B-/C
  13. Round 5 Pick 157 Chiefs Balanced Taylor Abreu 52/B
  14. Round 6 Pick 166 Buccaneers Balanced Jalen Watkins B/F
  15. Round 7 Pick 202 Browns Receiving Mickey Tulowitzki B-/C-
  16. Round 2 Pick 44 Vikings Speed Yogi Oladipo C/A+
  17. Round 7 Pick 230 Steelers Speed Brian DeFratus 49/B
  18. Round 6 Pick 181 Bills Receiving Alex Dermody C+/C+
  19. Round 6 Pick 167 Giants Balanced Christian Simon C+/C

RB is a real fun class with a lot of great value picks and gems in the later rounds. I think Yogi Oladipo was a bit of a reach but with A+ potential if he can get a lot of snaps he could prove me wrong. Like I said before I think this is going to be a really fun class and I can’t wait to see them develop.

FB:

  1. Round 3 Pick 68 Jets Rushing Michael Elias 59/B-
  2. Round 6 Pick 193 Bills Blocking Adam Anderson A-/C-
  3. Round 3 Pick 87 Bengals Balanced Shaquil Watkins 58/D
  4. Round 5 Pick 149 Buccaneers Blocking Owa Flaherty B-/B
  5. Round 7 Pick 208 Texans Blocking Clinton Marte C/A+
  6. Round 7 Pick 221 Eagles Receiving Ryan Witherspoon C+/B
  7. Round 7 Pick 209 Falcons Rushing Ian Jennings B-/C
  8. Round 7 Pick 217 Ravens Receiving Ito Herrera B-/D+
  9. Round 7 Pick 214 49ers Blocking James Gyorko C+/D
  10. Round 7 Pick 225 Seahawks Rushing Chunky Nuno F/C

Everyone loves FBs but maybe the Eagles love them a little less since it’s the first position they didn’t draft the 2nd best player in. Since this ranking is only looking at overall, attributes, and potential Chunky Nuno had to be ranked last but if we did on things that actually mattered he would easily be #1.

WR:

  1. Round 1 Pick 2 Dolphins Route Runner Arden Ejiofor 62/B+
  2. Round 1 Pick 5 Giants Speed Paul Canha 66/F
  3. Round 1 Pick 10 Jets Route Runner Marvin Thomas 60/B-
  4. Round 2 Pick 48 Panthers Route Runner Jose Jones 64/F
  5. Round 2 Pick 50 Seahawks Possession Joe Edmunds 58/A+
  6. Round 6 Pick 185 Red Zone Threat Travis Chirinos B+/A-
  7. Round 4 Pick 124 Eagles Route Runner Evan Gordon 58/B-
  8. Round 3 Pick 90 Jets Possession Matt Siri 56/B
  9. Round 1 Pick 17 Patriots Route Runner Logan Njoku 59/C+
  10. Round 1 Pick 27 Chiefs Route Runner Ronald Cimber 59/C
  11. Round 3 Pick 67 Saints Possession Matt Zavala B+/C-
  12. Round 7 Pick 207 Texans Red Zone Threat B.J. Barrera 54/A+
  13. Round 3 Pick 79 Vikings Route Runner Jordan Suter B/B-
  14. Round 5 Pick 134 Saints Route Runner Gregory Donnal B/C+
  15. Round 4 Pick 112 Browns Possession Tim McRae 57/C
  16. Round 4 Pick 108 Jaguars Speed Jordan Hicks 57/C
  17. Round 2 Pick 43 Jaguars Possession Trevor Wood 57/D+
  18. Round 4 Pick 115 Bills Red Zone Threat Nick Jones B/C-
  19. Round 5 Pick 145 Colts Route Runner Chris Pulley B/D
  20. Round 4 Pick 110 Buccaneers Speed Devon Alford B-/C-
  21. Round 6 Pick 173 Chargers Red Zone Threat Sean Plutko B-/C+
  22. Round 6 Pick 194 Rams Speed Jamie Freese 53/C
  23. Round 3 Pick 74 Chargers Red Zone Threat D.J. Sturdevant B/F
  24. Round 4 Pick 121 49ers Red Zone Threat Jester Soroka B/F
  25. Round 6 Pick 178 Browns Route Runner Nick Breslow B-/D+
  26. Round 7 Pick 227 Dolphins Possession Kyle Grant C+/A+
  27. Round 7 Pick 215 Packers Possession Jordan Cross C+/C+
  28. Round 7 Pick 232 Falcons  Possession Nick Joseph-Day C+/C+
  29. Round 5 Pick 131 Saints Speed Ryan Forbes C/C+
  30. Round 6 Pick 196 Cardinals Route Runner Chris Snell C/C
  31. Round 7 Pick 205 Packers Possession Eric Ford C/C-

The WR class is absolutely stacked, just so much talent up and down the class. This class really has everything you want. You have a couple late round steals with Travis Chirinos in the 6th and B.J. Barrera in the 7th. You have great players taken early in the draft that at the beginning of the draft process were not ranked super high. Obviously you have the top prospect who is still at the top of the class. The class even has a raw talent guy with a ton of potential. This is easily my favorite position in the draft class and I can not wait to see the state of the WRs in the NFL once this group hits their primes.

TE:

  1. Round 5 Pick 152 Bears Vertical Threat Shawn Meeks 51/B-
  2. Round 7 Pick 223 Ravens Vertical Threat Nate Adam B-/C
  3. Round 2 Pick 64 Saints Receiving Hakeem Judd B-/C-
  4. Round 6 Pick 182 Buccaneers Receiving Tim Therrien C+/C-
  5. Round 3 Pick 92 Bills Receiving Thad Downs C+/C-
  6. Round 7 Pick 210 Seahawks Receiving Ervin Dotson 51/C-
  7. Round 4 Pick 111 Titans Receiving Mike Urais B/F
  8. Round 5 Pick 139 Colts Receiving Alex Atkins B/F
  9. Round 7 Pick 229 Cardinals Vertical Threat Cordrea Hahn 47/C-
  10. Round 5 Pick 159 Steelers Receiving Jadeveon Desir D+/C+
  11. Round 7 Pick 206 Panthers Vertical Threat Deonte Canaan C/F
  12. Round 7 Pick 235 Chargers Vertical Threat A.J. Bonifacio D+/F

TE was a hard position to rank most of the TEs weren’t scouted and are very close in terms of talent. Because of this it was hard to differentiate them but I ranked them to the best of my abilities. Now getting to the actual rankings Nate Adam in the 7th was a steal on pace with and in my opinion better than Hakeem Judd who was picked in the 2nd round is amazing value. The TE class wasn’t great but if they get starter snaps they could be solid players in the future.

OT:

  1. Round 1 Pick 16 Ravens Run Blocking DaVonte Logan 62/B+
  2. Round 1 Pick 26 Dolphins Pass Blocking Mike Hubbard 61/C+
  3. Round 1 Pick 15 Browns Pass Blocking Mike Penny 58/A+
  4. Round 3 Pick 85 Ravens Balanced Burch Ramos 61/D+
  5. Round 4 Pick 103 Raiders Pass Block Jake Sosa 56/A+
  6. Round 5 Pick 137 Texans Run Blocking Chris Reyes 58/B-
  7. Round 2 Pick 59 Chiefs Pass Blocking Brad Adams 59/C
  8. Round 7 Pick 236 Jaguars Pass Blocking Micha Price B/B-
  9. Round 1 Pick 28 Cardinals Run Blocking Tony Varvaro B/B-
  10. Round 6 Pick 180 Bears Pass Blocking Francis Snell 57/C
  11. Round 2 Pick 37 Cowboys Run Blocking Francisco Smith 58/C-
  12. Round 1 Pick 25 Chargers Balanced J’Mon Wolters 58/C-
  13. Round 4 Pick 122 Steelers Run Blocking Chris Diaz 53/B+
  14. Round 3 Pick 94 Buccaneers Run Blocking Trevon Ingram B/D+
  15. Round 5 Pick 160 49ers Run Blocking Blake Robinson B/D
  16. Round 7 Pick 213 Lions Run Blocking Rashad Bradley C+/C

16 OTs were drafted this year and I have to say this was a sneaky good class. I didn’t love the OT class going into the draft but I think that all 16 of the drafted OTs can become at the very least solid players. I think if given enough snaps to progress the worst OT that was drafted this year is a guy that while you would like an upgrade over you wouldn’t lose sleep over having to start.

OG:

  1. Round 1 Pick 29 Cardinals Balanced Felix Rodriguez B/A-
  2. Round 2 Pick 39 Texans Run Blocking John Massie 59/C+
  3. Round 2 Pick 57 Cowboys Run Blocking Jose Moustakas 58/C+
  4. Round 2 Pick 40 Falcons Run Blocking Alex Hitchens 58/C
  5. Round 4 Pick 100 Panthers Balanced Hunter Familia 60/D-
  6. Round 3 Pick 82 Bills Pass Blocking Corey Cabrera 57/C-
  7. Round 2 Pick 33 Colts Pass Blocking Justin Cooper 59/D
  8. Round 5 Pick 138 Chargers Run Blocking Tim Robinson 53/A
  9. Round 5 Pick 156 Dolphins Pass Blocking Robert Hernandez B/D-
  10. Round 5 Pick 155 Raiders Pass Blocking Logan Travis B-/D
  11. Round 7 Pick 212 Jaguars Pass Blocking Trevor Gonzalez C+/C-
  12. Round 6 Pick 197 Giants Pass Blocking Carlos Tom C/C-
  13. Round 7 Pick 224 Bengals Run Blocking Tyrell Albies C+/F

OG is also a solid class worse than OT but if I were any of these teams I wouldn’t be super mad or upset about the OG I drafted which is nice because outside of the top guys I didn’t hear anything about OGs.

C:

  1. Round 1 Pick 3 Panthers Run Blocking Ruben Shazier A/B-
  2. Round 1 Pick 32 Chargers Run Blocking Jorge Jacobs 59/B
  3. Round 3 Pick 83 Buccaneers Balanced Ryan Wiggins B/B-
  4. Round 3 Pick 86 Dolphins Pass Blocking Edward Colon 58/C-
  5. Round 3 Pick 81 Chiefs Run Blocking Trey Wall 52/A+
  6. Round 5 Pick 153 Bengals Balanced Josh Varvaro 56/C+
  7. Round 5 Pick 141 Titans Line Captain Rashard Nall B/C+
  8. Round 6 Pick 183 Eagles Pass Blocking Trayvon Wadley B/C
  9. Round 6 Pick 195 Browns Run Blocking Skai Esch B/C-

This center class is really good. Only 1 center was drafted with an overall under 54 and that's a 52 overall with A+ potential. I think every team that drafted a center is happy with what they got and I think if they are given the snaps to develop all 9 will become starting centers.

DE:

  1. Round 1 Pick 5 Panthers Balanced Vince Gresham 62/B
  2. Round 2 Pick 42 Ravens Speed Rusher Nick Concepion 58/A
  3. Round 3 Pick 89 Jets Speed Rusher Hunter Suh 57/A
  4. Round 1 Pick 12 Chargers Run Stopper James McKinnon 56/A+
  5. Round 1 Pick 20 Eagles Balanced Whit Wilson 59/C-
  6. Round 4 Pick 114 Raiders Balanced Sam Moxey 54/A+
  7. Round 2 Pick 34 49ers Speed Rusher Paul Fowler 54/C+
  8. Round 4 Pick 118 Bears Run Stopper Jack Koroma 54/C+
  9. Round 4 Pick 109 Lions Speed Rusher Joel Chirinos B-/C
  10. Round 3 Pick 70 Saints Speed Rusher Thaddeus Pestano B-/C-
  11. Round 2 Pick 61 Steelers Run Stopper Benardrick Taylor B-/C-
  12. Round 3 Pick 73 Seahawks Run Stopper Meyers Wilson 57/D
  13. Round 3 Pick 65 Colts Speed Rusher Ty Bogdanovic 57/D
  14. Round 5 Pick 162 Packers Balanced Sean Lee B-/C-
  15. Round 6 Pick 164 Browns Run Stopper Ronald McKinnon 54/C-
  16. Round 7 Pick 216 Chargers Speed Rusher Maurice Vereen B-/D+
  17. Round 6 Pick 188 Browns Run Stopper Brandon Rasmussen B-/D+
  18. Round 4 Pick 127 Bills Speed Rusher Randal Holmes 54/D+
  19. Round 7 Pick 237 Vikings Speed Rusher Fish Vander Laan C+/A+
  20. Round 6 Pick 168 Panthers Speed Rusher Wilkin Tatum C+/C+
  21. Round 5 Pick 133 Cardinals Speed Rusher Joel Guerra C/C+
  22. Round 7 Pick 203 49ers Speed Rusher Buck Alburquerque C/C

Ok I am trying to be as unbiased as possible with these and while I did that with this I feel like this is my most biased one yet. I think as a whole speed rushers are better than run stoppers of the same overall because they have more attributes that they perform better than run stoppers in. Speed rushers are faster, more agile, and better pass rushers but not as strong, worse tacklers, and worse in run stop. I think because DEs are strong and good tacklers already on average speed rushers are faster and more agile than run stoppers are stronger and better tacklers making speed rushers better so that made me rank them higher. Now onto the actual class a lot of good DEs came out of this class. I feel like the top 5 will be starters for their entire career. I think 6-15 if given enough snaps to develop will be at the very least solid starters that you would like to upgrade but don’t mind starting. I think 16-22 will be at the very worst good backup options with the potential of being ok starting options throughout their career. Another really good class and as I am going through this entire draft class is a lot better than I first thought. Also Nick Concepion and Hunter Suh are super close and could be swapped with just a tiny improvement to one of Suh’s stats, I just wanted to mention that.

DT:

  1. Round 2 Pick 38 Dolphins Balanced Robinzon Terrell 60/B-
  2. Round 1 Pick 19 Buccaneers Pass Rush T.Y. Hubbard 59/B-
  3. Round 1 Pick 8 Falcons Balanced Logan Lopez 62/F
  4. Round 4 Pick 99 49ers Nose Tackle Dante Gates A/C-
  5. Round 2 Pick 53 Bears Balanced Cesar Whitehead 55/A+
  6. Round 3 Pick 93 Vikings Pass Rusher Jason Marte B-/B-
  7. Round 2 Pick 63 Chargers Balanced Phillip Bell B/C
  8. Round 4 Pick 126 Eagles Balanced Chris Holmes B+/F
  9. Round 7 Pick 219 Bills Nose Tackle Javy Axelrod B+/D+
  10. Round 5 Pick 158 Cardinals Balanced Mike LeVert C+/B-
  11. Round 5 Pick 163 Raiders Balanced Chris Crawford 55/C
  12. Round 6 Pick 170 Saints Balanced Carl Melton B-/C
  13. Round 6 Pick 174 Jaguars Balanced Da'Norris Alexander C+/C-
  14. Round 6 Pick 176 Steelers Nose Tackle Trenton Williams 53/C+
  15. Round 6 Pick 198 Texans Pass Rusher Dana Green 49/B

The DT class is another strong one, obviously nothing close to the insane class we saw last year but 2 maybe 3 60+ overalls and then some decent to good overalls with good potential. It is really starting to look like you can get a good DT in the draft every year. I wonder how this will impact the market because if this continues, why pay an average DT that's right around his prime when you can draft a good DT to take his place and if you get lucky with potential could be even better.

OLB:

  1. Round 2 Pick 51 Buccaneers Run Stopper Ja’Wuan Gray 59/A+
  2. Round 4 Pick 129 Seahawks Pass Rush Carlos Mateo 59/A
  3. Round 2 Pick 35 Vikings Coverage Rasheed Downs B/A-
  4. Round 1 Pick 18 Bills Speed Jourdan Conner 59/C+
  5. Round 2 Pick 45 Falcons Pass Rush David Brown Jr. 59/C
  6. Round 3 Pick 97 Texans Pass Rush Sebastian Amichia 59/C
  7. Round 4 Pick 123 Dolphins Speed Myles Bolles 52/A+
  8. Round 4 Pick 102 Ravens Coverage Brett Lin 55/C
  9. Round 6 Pick 192 Steelers Pass Rush Naz Fiers 51/A
  10. Round 6 Pick 171 Rams Coverage Andre LeMahieu 53/B
  11. Round 3 Pick 77 Cardinals Run Stopper Beau Martin C+/C+
  12. Round 6 Pick 186 Bengals Coverage Marquel Gott 50/C-
  13. Round 5 Pick 140 Chargers Pass Rush Derrick Vasquez C+/C-
  14. Round 6 Pick 165 49ers Speed Michael Bell C+/D+
  15. Round 6 Pick 175 Lions Run Stopper Ryan White C/F

OLB is an ok class, Carlos Mateo in the 4th was a steal for the Seahawks and the top 6 are good players. I think 7-9 could end up being solid given enough snaps. Past that they might be good but I am not holding out hope on those guys because even 6-9 are a little iffy.

ILB:

  1. Round 6 Pick 172 Seahawks Field General Breshad Barnes 60/B-
  2. Round 1 Pick 13 Jets Coverage Davis Covey 58/B-
  3. Round 2 Pick 46 Packers Run Stopper Michael Rozier 58/B-
  4. Round 1 Pick 30 Jaguars Run Stopper Kenny Daniel 61/D+
  5. Round 3 Pick 69 Browns Run Stopper Carlos Blacknall 56/B
  6. Round 5 Pick 143 Colts Speed Jay Vernon 56/B
  7. Round 3 Pick 88 Vikings Field General Tyler Bradley B-/B-
  8. Round 5 Pick 161 Rams Run Stopper Gonzalez Tyson 53/B+
  9. Round 3 Pick 78 Titans Speed Joe Yanda B-/C
  10. Round 5 Pick 151 Dolphins Speed Ali Sandoval B-/C-
  11. Round 4 Pick 98 Colts Coverage Josh Joyner 55/C-
  12. Round 5 Pick 150 Eagles Coverage Jarrod Young C+/B
  13. Round 6 Pick 189 Titans Speed Drew Evans C+/C+
  14. Round 5 Pick 142 Bears Run Stopper Mike Kim 48/C+
  15. Round 6 Pick 191 Cardinals Field General Damien Chachere C+/C-

Davis Covey and Michael Rozier are super close and I can see them being switched. Ok A good ILB class Jay Vernon in the 5th by the Colts was a good pick and some nice talent at the top. Big Shoutout to the Seahawks who have shown that they are the best in the sim when it comes to draft LBs 2nd best OLB in the 4th round and best ILB in the 6th round they added 2 studs and the birds must be seeing something the rest aren’t when it comes to LBs. I think the top 7 are long term starters and with enough snaps I can see a couple others being fringe starters or solid ILB2s.

CB:

DISCLAIMER CB RANKINGS ARE A BIT VIBE HEAVY

  1. Round 1 Pick 14 Packers Zone Coverage Connor Hardison 60/A
  2. Round 1 Pick 11 Jaguars Man Coverage Zac McCutchen 59/A+
  3. Round 2 Pick 58 Dolphins Zone Coverage Brad Portis 62/C+
  4. Round 1 Pick 6 Saints Man Coverage Stansly Alvarez 61/C-
  5. Round 1 Pick 32 Jaguars Man Coverage Dashaun Ceciliani 62/D-
  6. Round 2 Pick 47 Browns Man Coverage Isaiah Williams 58/A
  7. Round 4 Pick 120 Bengals Ball Hawk Danny Garcia 55/A
  8. Round 1 Pick 21 Bears Zone Coverage Giannis Wright 56/A
  9. Round 4 Pick 106 Seahawks Man Coverage Brett Maxey 57/B-
  10. Round 4 Pick 101 Panthers Ball Hawk Kaelin Swanson 58/C
  11. Round 2 Pick 55 Texans Zone Coverage Deante Hedges 58/C
  12. Round 2 Pick 52 Eagles Zone Coverage Riley Correra 59/C-
  13. Round 2 Pick 36 Giants Man Coverage Sam Voth 59/D+
  14. Round 6 Pick 177 Packers Zone Coverage David Rader 54/A+
  15. Round 4 Pick 104 Texans Zone Coverage Skye Lattimore 55/B+
  16. Round 3 Pick 76 Lions Zone Coverage Whitney Robinson 57/C+
  17. Round 2 Pick 56 Jaguars Man Coverage Rashard Hilliard 56/C+
  18. Round 4 Pick 128 Chargers Man Coverage Arnold Smith B/C+
  19. Round 4 Pick 125 Cardinals Man Coverage Nikola LeBlanc B-/B
  20. Round 7 Pick 231 Chargers Ball Hawk Simeyon McCoy B-/C+
  21. Round 3 Pick 81 Colts Ball Hawk Jonathan Parks 58/D+
  22. Round 6 Pick 169 Saints Man Coverage Chaz Zeitler B/D
  23. Round 5 Pick 132 Raiders Man Coverage Evan Duke 57/D-
  24. Round 3 Pick 75 Falcons Zone Coverage Chandler McKay B/F
  25. Round 7 Pick 234 Giants Ball Hawk David Whitesell C+/C
  26. Round 7 Pick 218 Vikings Ball Hawk Matt Viloria C-/B-

Ok this was the hardest position to rank because not only were so many CBs drafted but so many of them are good and so close. If you don’t agree with these rankings I understand, so many great players were drafted and I feel like any player could be moved up or down a couple spots and these rankings would still make sense. With that said I tried my best to rank them all in a way that I can’t complain about but if I were to come back to this in a couple days I would probably move a bunch of guys around. Alright now that we got that out of the way the CB position is by a large margin the best position in the draft class. A player with the overall and potential of CB19 would have been top 10 in every other position except WR which was the other stacked position from this draft and I was being generous with top 10. If you needed CB and didn’t draft a CB you really missed out.

FS:

  1. Round 2 Pick 41 Dolphins Zone Coverage Jordan Dickson 62/C-
  2. Round 2 Pick 62 49ers Run Stopper Mike Barr B-/B+
  3. Round 3 Pick 72 Bears Run Stopper Kyle Reimold 56/C+
  4. Round 4 Pick 119 Browns Zone Coverage Mychal Mercedes 54/B-
  5. Round 7 Pick 226 Chargers Ball Hawk Joe Socolovich B-/C+
  6. Round 7 Pick 228 Bills Zone Coverage John Jefferson B-/C
  7. Round 5 Pick 144 Packers Zone Coverage Maikel Infante B/D
  8. Round 5 Pick 146 Ravens Zone Coverage Dallas Maulet C+/C
  9. Round 6 Pick 179 Patriots Ball Hawk Dan King C+/D

FS was tied with center for the least players drafted not including special teams. The class is highlighted but Jordan Dickson and Mike Barr. Kyle Reimold, Mychal Mercedes, Joe Socolovic, John Jefferson, and Maikel Infante are also solid players who, if given enough snaps to develop, will grow into good players. Maulet and King aren’t great and will have an uphill battle to be starter caliber at any point in their careers.

SS:

  1. Round 1 Pick 1 Titans Zone Coverage Garrett Smith 61/C-
  2. Round 2 Pick 60 Saints Man Coverage Justin Ramirez B/B-
  3. Round 3 Pick 95 Raiders Run Stopper Andrew Zagunis 55/B
  4. Round 3 Pick 84 Eagles Run Stopper Keibert House 55/B
  5. Round 3 Pick 80 Lions Ball Hawk Shaq Ryan 57/C+
  6. Round 3 Pick 96 Rams Zone Coverage Bobby Britton 52/A+
  7. Round 4 Pick 116 Buccaneers Ball Hawk Niko Suarez C+/B-
  8. Round 6 Pick 199 Jaguars Man Coverage Ben Lombardozzi B-/F
  9. Round 6 Pick 201 Chiefs Ball Hawk Ben Blossomgame C/C+
  10. Round 7 Pick 239 Chiefs Man Coverage Hung-Chih McHugh F/C

Garrett Smith leads the class as the #1 pick in the draft and Justin Ramirez, Andrew Agunis, Keivert House, and Shaq Ryan are all really talented SSs that should become good players. Bobby Britton has a lot of potential too so he could be a good player. Also RIP to the GOAT himself Hung-Chih McHugh Mr. Irrelevant was cut by the Chiefs and is currently without a team.

K:

  1. Round 2 Pick 54 Jets Accuracy Ronald Baker 63/C+
  2. Round 6 Pick 187 Buccaneers Balanced Ike Tauchman B+/C+

P:

  1. Round 5 Pick 154 Buccaneers Power Troy Jackson B+/C
  2. Round 6 Pick 200 Ravens Power Colby Dayes C/D+

Great analysis! Love seeing the picks grouped this way. Looking at the Browns rounds next to everyone else's, I feel like we got average-to-good value at our selections.

I do think you might be too optimistic about the viability of  low-B players as future starters. Like at OT, if you count out the top 64 players (two for each team) you have to get down to 64 Overall. So a 54 Overall needs to EXCEED the future growth/regression of those players by 10 points to be considered a starter. Now, a lot of those low-60s guys are probably Pool players outside of their prime growth years, so with good potential and luck that might happen in as little as 2 years. But I think that will be the exception, not the rule.

Still, I really appreciate the way things are laid out. Will be fun to come back to this in 2-3 years and see how the list has changed!

Yeah I think in a couple more seasons when we see the first couple of draft classes enter their prime I will be able to make better rankings coming out of the draft but for now I am more or less guessing how much potential impacts progression, how much to expect different players to progress, and what to expect for players in the future.  Obviously snap count also plays a part in progression so seeing how much talent users are willing to sacrifice to start developing a young guy will be another improvement for future draft rankings.

These rankings were also made to help me with draft grades that I am going to be making soon and for those I am going to go more in depth into player fit, playing opportunity, and future outlook so I will keep in mind my optimism when it comes to these guys and tone it back a little for that so thank you for mentioning that because it is going to make my next piece of draft media better.

It's funny how every Texans player on this list you have in the Top 5 or at the very least in the top half (besides the DT) of their positional ranking...but when you went through the draft classes on Discord you shit on the class and I was very confused why.
