NCAA Tournament

A 9-member selection committee submitted ballots to seed the main tournament. The selection committee was made up of regular pollsters and commenters:

  • Bellwood
  • Ezaco
  • Jieret
  • Rocketcan
  • SageBow
  • SandyToez
  • subsequent
  • TuscanSota
  • Wahoo

Overall #1 Seed: Purdue (31-2). Purdue was selected as the top seed by 7/9 ballots. Temple was the only other team to get votes for overall #1 seed.

#1 Seeds: Purdue, Temple, St. John's, Central Michigan

Last 4 In: Florida Gulf Coast, South Carolina, Nevada, Western Michigan

First 4 Out: Pittsburgh, Fresno State, Ole Miss, Florida State

NIT

Any team that won its conference in the regular season (conference tournament 1 seeds) but did not make the NCAA Tournament was invited to the NIT. The highest rated teams in the Advanced Rankings (AR) that missed the NCAA tournament were invited as at-large bids. 22 teams were given at-large bids.

CBI

The 16 highest rated AR teams not in the NCAA Tournament or NIT were invited to the CBI.
