I would like to announce that the 2023 SimCBB regular season schedule is now complete.

With that said, we would like to highlight a OOC opportunities I think everyone here will be interested in:

Invitationals, Conference Challenges and Classics

Classics are traditional OOC matchups highlighting specific teams at the start of each season. Certain teams will automatically be scheduled into a Classic that they participate in (as per tradition), while some are open invitational. Conference challenges allow conferences to face one another in a week's worth of matches between the teams of their respective conferences. Invitationals are a new feature for this year's season and are regular season tournaments taking place before regular season conference matchups.

Classics

The Classics are a mix of traditional matchups between certain teams and open challenges between two teams in a neutral arena. The most famous classic is the Champions Classic, and are matchups involving Kentucky, Michigan State, Kansas, and Duke. The SimBBA Classic mirrors the CBS Sports Classic and are matchups between Ohio State, UNC, Kentucky, and UCLA. The Crossroads Classic is a matchup involving all P6 Indiana-based teams (Indiana, Butler, Purdue, and Notre Dame). We are also bringing back the Holy War this year, which will feature Saint Mary's, Georgetown, Baylor, and Dayton. The remaining classics that are open invite are the Armed Forces Classic, Jimmy V Classic, Never Forget Tribute Classic, and the Chicago Classic. This year we are featuring a new classic known as the Magic Kingdom Classic, which will involve four teams from the previous post-season tournament and will place them against one another.

Conference Challenges

This year's conference challenges are the Gavitt Tipoff Games (Big East vs Big Ten), the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, A10-Sun Belt challenge, Big East-Big 12 Battle, and the Pac 12 Coast to Coast Challenge. The Big 12-SEC challenge unfortunately expired IRL last season and won't be occurring this year. The challenges are based off the 2023 IRL season and are already implemented in the 2023 schedule.

Invitationals

Invitationals are pre-season tournaments in the IRL NCAA College Basketball Season. Over the course of three days, teams compete in a pre-season tournament, with the winning team after three games is crowned the winner. For this season of SimCBB, we're going to be bringing the invitationals to the sim. There are a few ground rules as far as participating in an invitational.

• Each invitational tournament will host 8 teams in a respective location that is already pre-determined.
• Invitationals will take place in Week 3B of the tournament. No classics or challenges currently take place in this designated time slot, allowing every team the opportunity to be invited and participate.
• During week 3B, for all participating teams, games in the tournament will be ran and streamed on Wednesday (Quarterfinals), Thursday (Semifinals), and Friday (Finals). If your team is participating and is winning through the tournament, please make sure to adjust your gameplan after each match.
• Teams invited to one invitational cannot participate in another invitational.
• The only invitational with specific criteria are the Maui Invitational and Phil Knight Invitational. The Maui Invitational will invite one team from each P6 conference, and two from the mid-majors. The Phil Knight Invitational will at least include one team from the state of Oregon as one of the eight participants (Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, and Portland State).
• User teams will be given a priority in invites for the invitationals. At the moment, previous season record is not required for an invite.
• Once you accept an invite to an Invitational, the tournament will be added to your OOC schedule.
• Teams will be seeded in their tournament based on the overall letter grade that can be found in the Available Teams section of the Interface.
