A disastrous mistake on special teams nearly cost them the game, but the Browns defense made a final stand to secure the victory and take the team to 5-0.

Losing by a touchdown with 1:35 on the clock, the Dolphins decided to punt and hope for a stop rather than attempt a 4th and 17 from their own 18-yard line. Timothy Berger made a good effort on the return, but had the ball stripped away at the Browns’ 37. The Dolphins recovered, giving Dean Hammond one final chance to tie the game. But he threw 3 incompletions and had a run stuffed, so the Browns were able to celebrate after all.

The Browns defense continues to be their strength: they’re allowing only 6.6 points per game and have surrendered only 2 touchdowns so far this season. They held Miami to 41 yards rushing on 19 attempts, and flipped the script on the Dolphin’s longest play from scrimmage when James Hayes stripped the ball from Tyson Buss after a 43-yard catch and run. Richard Smith also had a standout performance from his nose tackle position, recording 2.5 TFLs and half a sack.

Juan Mora recorded his fourth straight 100-yard game and his 6th rushing touchdown. The 25-year-old continues to stake his claim as one of the best backs in the league, with the agility to make defenders miss and the speed to break away once he gets to the second level. TE Mark Lysek continues to improve as well, with 15 receptions in his last two games.

The Browns travel to Minnesota next week to take on the 1-3 Vikings. The Vikings have struggled to stop the run so far this season and have allowed Christian Sinnock to be sacked 8 times. Look for the Browns to put pressure on the young QB in pursuit of another win.

I keep waiting for the browns to fall apart but they keep wining. AFC is a little scary. I believe we have 3 unbeaten teams left
