ACC GOTW OFFENSIVE PLAYER TO WATCH

Korey Gonzalez - QB - Pittsburgh

In week one against Temple, Gonzalez proved himself to be one of the quarterbacks to watch this year. As a senior, this offense is truly his and his arm seems to be very accurate, to say the least. From 28 attempted passes, he completed 23 of them, with no interceptions, a touchdown and a 174 passer rating. Temple are a team which are stacked within their own right so to go on the road and perform the way he did in the opening game of the season is impressive. With that said, this is an entirely different animal. Notre Dame are arguably one of (if not the) most stacked side in college football this year, and their roster is loaded with playmakers. Cole Briscoe and Jeremy Gipson are probably the best one-two punch at corner in the entire nation, so this week we will really see what Gonzalez is made of. I think this is the key match up, and if Gonzalez can play to his potential, and his raw ability again, then Pitt can make this interesting.

Preston Miller - DT - Pittsburgh

When I write about Miller, I run out of superlatives to say. This guy is an absolute monster, and the senior looks set to be a sure fire first round draft pick in next years NFL draft. He opened his season account with two sacks in the dominant performance against Temple, and if Pitt are to win this one, he's going to have to do somewhat of the same this week. Notre Dame's offensive line features two of the nations premier offensive tackles in McDonald and Penny, but the interior of their line, while good, is not their strong point and I believe it is an area where Pitt can look to expose them, and attack their quarterback. Expect Miller to come out all guns blazing, and build on his impressive start to the season.

ACC GOTW PREDICTION

I'm going with the home team here, in somewhat of an upset. While Notre Dame have more stars, I think with home field advantage, Gonzalez's accuracy, and Miller's gung ho pressure play, I think Pitt is one of the few bad match ups for Notre Dame. It'll be close, but when all is said and done Gonzalez will be the one taking the dub. Pitt move to 2-0, and assert their vengence on the rest of the Chads in the ACC.
