The draft is right around the corner. Last week the athletes of the Big XII came together to show off the talent present within this great conference. We all know there has been some negative publicity surrounding this day from athletes who decided not to participate; however, this article will focus on those that did show up, and show out.

Baylor University

1645234540235.thumb.png.9e209765c5abf3f8cc00afcf41b3ea13.png

Jehu Ginn - ILB

Overall - A

40 Yard Dash: 4.50

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.07

3 Cone Drill: 6.81

Bench Press: 40

Vertical Jump: 41.02

Broad Jump: 132

Run Stop Drill: 9.31

LB Coverage Drill: 7.86

Jehu is every defensive coordinator's dream and every running back's worst nightmare. He was the foundation of Baylor's run defense this year and we can see why. He has the size and skills to shut down any back and will be at the top of many draft boards.

Projection: Top 5

Iowa State

1645235041466.png.175d8e6d891e4ea725afa96eeb40bd51.png

Russell Latimer - QB

Overall - B-

40 Yard Dash: 4.34

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.08

3 Cone Drill: 6.78

Bench Press: 29

Vertical Jump: 37.31

Broad Jump: 125

Accuracy Drill: 6.99

Distance Drill: 6.66

Iowa State's signal-caller is certainly more of a runner than an accomplished passer, but has tremendous upside and could certainly be a dual-threat after some development. Scouts have listed concerns about his durability given past injuries and physical style of play. He could be a mid-round steal but could also slide given the amount of similar QB talent.

Projection: Third Round

Kansas

1645235711641.thumb.png.35dc234fddff9ee562e084f5c1187767.png

Danny Syndergaard - OG

Overall - C+

40 Yard Dash: 5.43

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.28

3 Cone Drill: 7.20

Bench Press: 36

Vertical Jump: 34.75

Broad Jump: 123

Run Block Drill: 8.03

Pass Block Drill: 5.86

In the right scheme, Syndergaard could be a sneaky later-round pick-up to solidify a team's line. Definitely stronger as a bulldozer than in pass protect, but pull him out in front of the right back and you could be looking at a lot of green.

Projection: 6th-7th Round

Kansas State

1645236091432.thumb.png.678bb3aa22d277aa4d528477a005e472.png

Marquez Allen - OT

Overall - B-

40 Yard Dash: 5.61

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.19

3 Cone Drill: 7.06

Bench Press: 39

Vertical Jump: 35.55

Broad Jump: 124

Run Block Drill: 7.09

Pass Block Drill: 6.75

Allen could be a very solid OT. He does everything well, but he does not excel in any one area. Teams looking for a later-round well-rounded OT Allen could be a decent pick.

Projection: 5th Round

Oklahoma

1645236626513.png.6e7af7510a8462b3ffec86b30733a545.png

Andrew Richards - WR

Overall - B

40 Yard Dash: 4.45

20 Yard Shuttle: 3.99

3 Cone Drill: 6.70

Bench Press: 34

Vertical Jump: 38.74

Broad Jump: 133

Catching Drill: 7.08

Route Running Drill: 7.97

The Sooner pass catcher is highly rated by the scouts but did not seem to wow in the catching or route running drills. Richards was a former 5-star recruit with off-the-charts potential ended up sitting out his senior year. He really could've used the extra year of development but the good news is the potential is still there.

Projection: 3rd-4th Round

Oklahoma State

1645237444116.thumb.png.5cadac3c1cd11a9b943ac87ad5e5b2ca.png

Ryan Reininger - SS

Overall - B+

40 Yard Dash: 4.40

20 Yard Shuttle: 3.98

3 Cone Drill: 6.61

Bench Press: 29

Vertical Jump: 38.63

Broad Jump: 130

Man Coverage Drill: 7.62

Zone Coverage Drill: 7.07

Reininger showed surprising versatility in his pro day. He may not be your first choice for coverage but if you are looking for a safety to come down and make an impact on the running game, he's your guy. Would've loved to see him compete in the run stop drill to really show off his skills. Regardless he won't be a liability in the secondary but he certainly would not be a no-fly zone.

Projection: 2nd Round

TCU

1645238034129.png.34122dbe455574af14124ab27c629e91.png

Phil O'Malley - OLB

Overall - B-

40 Yard Dash: 4.60

20 Yard Shuttle: 3.95

3 Cone Drill: 6.69

Bench Press: 30

Vertical Jump: 38.27

Broad Jump: 129

Run Stop Drill: 7.41

LB Coverage Drill: 8.61

O'Malley is a great option for teams looking for coverage from the OLB position. While he did not give the 40 yard time you would like to see from an OLB in order to cover RB's out of the backfield, Phil showed out in the coverage drill to make up for it.

Projection: 4th Round

Texas

1645239092148.png.34c7bddf861979420ddb1faf8f8758b0.png

Trea Taumoepenu - DE

Overall - C+

40 Yard Dash: 4.57

20 Yard Shuttle: 3.95

3 Cone Drill: 6.61

Bench Press: 29

Vertical Jump: 37.05

Broad Jump: 128

Run Stop Drill: 6.20

Pass Rush Drill: 7.79

Taumoepenu is known for having a good first step considering his size. The problem is, there is a ton of DE's that can do that and more. While showing good speed and a decent run stop drill for being a pass rusher, Trea really needed an elite pass rush drill to set himself apart. The upside: scouts think Trea shows some raw skills to develop that elite rush, despite sub-par conditioning. After some development, Trea may be a great 3rd down pass rush specialist.

Projection: 6th Round

Texas Tech

1645239900825.png.bf3183422657c8b39bbf64f4309c3b33.png

Fernando Gonzalez - RB

Overall - C

40 Yard Dash: 4.41

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.03

3 Cone Drill: 6.87

Bench Press: 28

Vertical Jump: 36.56

Broad Jump: 130

Catching Drill: 6.05

Route Running Drill: 2.79

Inside Run Drill: 7.37

Outside Run Drill: 7.44

Gonzalez racked up over 1,300 yards for the Red Raiders this year but he may struggle to find consistent carries at the next level. Does not exactly excel in any one category and struggles running routes which may pose some limitations in pro-style offenses. Could find his way on as a special teams contributor but lack of conditioning and scouts do not see much upside.

Projection: 7th Round - UDFA

West Virginia

1645239937245.thumb.png.2a9cb3f035bac0382508812ab361820c.png

Malik Burdi - CB

Overall - C-

40 Yard Dash: 4.7-

20 Yard Shuttle: 4.15

3 Cone Drill: 6.85

Bench Press: 20

Vertical Jump: 37.49

Broad Jump: 129

Man Coverage Drill: 5.71

Zone Coverage Drill: 8.13

Burdi does show some upside as a zone coverage nickel or dime back with some upside but will most likely not be getting a called on draft day. He may be a priority add as teams look to build for the future.

Projection: UDFA
