This year, the underdog of the season award looks to be falling into the hands of Tulsa, led by star quarterback Bud Coleman.

Prior to the seasons start, few had Tulsa being undefeated at the end of week four. In fact, they were ranked 19th in the pre-season.

Week 3 proved to be a confidence booster for Tulsa on both sides of the ball, not only shutting out their opponent, Army (who didn't seem to put up much of a fight), but also putting up 41 of their own points with 5 touchdowns coming from the miracle man Bud Coleman. The game helped was nothing but a beat down for Army besides the practice for their punter, who punted 8 times.

In week 4 on Friday offensive showdown against Memphis, Tulsa solidified itself as a frontrunner beating the solid 2-1 Memphis Tigers in an offensive showdown. Coleman threw for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. Memphis fought back led by electric running back Jim Whitehead who rushed for 180 yards.
