SimFBA Mission Statement

SimFBA is an in-depth football simulation site that seeks to create a unique and challenging football community dedicated to building the site and a tight community. We distinguish ourselves by being a community that is committed to full transparency of both the simulation itself and community decisions that will take place.

“Treat each other like you would in real life; don’t hide behind a keyboard”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About Us
SimFBA is a community of people who enjoy football enough to participate in a simulation of it where they are the coach, GM, owner, and/or scout. SimFBA uses a community-built simulation engine called NewSim. All of the Admins and Staff members on this site have directly contributed to the assembly and management of the forum, development of the interface, and from-the-ground-up coding of the simulation engine itself. Currently, the site is in BETA and the simulation is NOT complete. We are, however, working on it nearly every day to bring the best possible simulation to the community. Considering this status, we would appreciate any and all patience, feedback, suggestions, and criticisms that the community could provide us.

SimFBA Rules
SimFBA is meant to be fun and competitive - “trash talking” is allowed and encouraged. However, repeated instances of aggressive or unnecessary “trash talking” may be grounds for expulsion from SimFBA

Spirit of the Sim
  • The “Spirit of the Sim” is to create an engaging, stats-driven college and professional football simulation with realistic and fun features
  • Going against the Spirit of the Sim includes, but is not limited to, cheating by secretly working with others in an attempt to defraud, exploit, or otherwise purposefully break the simulation’s mechanics and immersion
Discriminaton
  • SimFBA does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, selection of staff or members and provision of services.
  • We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our admin, staff, members, and guests.
  • Discrimination strictly forbidden and is punishable by expulsion from SimFBA as decided upon by a tribunal
Collusion
  • Collusion is defined as the act of privately working with staff or other members to gain an unfair advantage against the spirit of the simulation
  • Collusion is strictly forbidden and is punishable by expulsion from SimFBA as decided upon by a tribunal
Alternate accounts
  • Alternate accounts is defined by a user controlling more than one account (unless otherwise allowed by site staff)
  • Operating more than one account is strictly forbidden and is punishable by expulsion from SimFBA as decided upon by a tribunal
Inactivity
  • Coaches and required to remain active within the community in order to maintain ownership of their teams
  • Unless otherwise noted, users who have more than 14 days of unexcused inactivity on the site may have their teams given to other users who have applied for them
Team changes
  • Coaches may only leave a team to join another during the offseason
    • This rule is in place to help reduce volatility and avoid situations where coaches leave their team due to a series of poor performances
Punishments
  • Punishments (severity, length, etc.) for breaches in SimFBA rules are determined by a tribunal made up of the site admin, conference commissioner (where applicable), NCAA commissioner, NFL commissioner, and the community ambassador.
  • All punishments will be documented and easily-accessible in a spreadsheet for all members to view
    • The purpose of this document is not to shame members, but to provide members with a transparent method of keeping site staff accountable for determining fair and just punishments
